Bitches

Many thanks to all exhibitors who, sportingly, accepted me as a last minute substitute judge instead of Margaret Gittins who had attracted an excellent entry.

The first three classes caused me a particular headache as there were lovely young bitches who presented a beautiful picture when standing but who have not yet settled in their movement. Many were erratic both front and rear being totally unco-ordinated.   However I am pleased that my principle winners were all much better on the move.  In all classes not all exhibits had good muscle tone and I wonder if the bad winter has affected their exercise; it certainly affected their movement.

All exhibits were presented to perfection, not a dirty coat amongst them, even if some were not in full bloom. All my principle winners had low set ears and a dark eye and most had the tight small feet as described in the standard.  I’m pleased I didn’t notice any throatiness and only one or two were narrow in front.

Minor Puppy  (15, no abs)

1. Corranoo Rainbow Kisses
Lovely outline when standing and didn’t disappoint me on the move. An elegant, beautifully balanced young lady, very appealing expression, excellent neck and shoulders with a gently sloping topline leading to a well set on tail. Nicely bodied with a good spring of rib and wonderful tight feet.

2. Brinara Vanity Fair
Another elegant girl, although slightly smaller than 1.  Again a lovely, feminine expression .  Excellent overall balance and conformation with all the parts flowing together.  Not exaggerated in any way and  kept her topline on the move. Moved well.

3. Orlanset Sarah at Glenury

Puppy (13, 4 abs.)

1. Romarne One Night Only
Very sound young lady. Pleasing head and expression. Good reach of neck  and correct shoulder placement. Slightly longer in the loin than my previous winner.  Good bone and substance, well balanced. Moved soundly holding her topline and using her tail correctly.  Best Bitch Puppy and Best Puppy in Show. Well done.

2. Shenanagin Scrumptious  generally a bigger bitch all round but still balanced and with flowing lines. Attractive head and expression. Good front with well laid shoulders  and correct rear  angulation.  She moved well keeping her topline and used her tail. Maturing nicely.

3. Lowdon Fairy Footsteps

Junior (18, 4 abs)

Two top quality bitches who could change places any day and whom I am sure will go on to top honours. Both handled expertly and moved and shown to perfection

1. Bardonhill Please Don’t Tease Quensha
She caught my eye as she came into the ring. Delightful head and expression. No exaggeration. Excellent reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders.  Excels in shoulders and upper arm assembly. Well bodied with sufficient spring of rib and good quarters.  Slightly longer cast than 2. Very sound, steady mover. Kept her topline on the move and used her tail. Needs to grow her coat to complete the picture.

2. Reddins Garbo
Another really pretty girl with classic head and the softest of expressions.  Well balanced and with good length of neck leading into good lay of shoulders and with correct rear conformation which allowed her to move freely and soundly holding her topline and tail correctly.

3. Dreamerlis Regal Jodie from Deneil

Yearling (20, 5 abs)

Another 2 quality bitches.

1. Suteresett  Miss Curious about Henaleas
Delightful head and expression. Well balanced throughout but needs to be careful she doesn’t lose her topline. Good neck leading to well placed shoulders. Well bodied with good spring of rib  Good, strong hindquarters  and moved with drive.

2. Lynwood Happy As A Lark JW
Pretty girl with well proportiond head. Everything in the right place.  Nicely bodied with good reach of neck, well laid back shoulders and with flowing lines.  Well balanced  with good depth of chest and well ribbed . Just preferred head of 1.

3 Kirkavagh Hula Dancer

Graduate (11, 6abs)

1. Strathmead Penny Whistle JW

Another elegant bitch with a lovely well balanced head and kind expression. Well constructed throughout with good, clean shoulders, well ribbed and with strong, well angled quarters.  Moved steadily.

3. Gwendariff Specially Maid

Postgraduate (20, 4abs)

Another class where 1 and 2 could change places.

1. Romarne Savannah  JW.  RCC
A slightly more substantial bitch which is what one would expect from this kennel.  That said she was well balanced throughout and still feminine.     Pleasing head, good lay back of shoulder with good front  and excellent quarters.  Moved steadily but with drive.  RCC

2. Reddins Keppel
I loved her expression, so appealing and wistful.   Beautifully proportioned and put together. Everything flowed. Good reach of neck and layback of shoulder. Strong hindquarters with excellent bend of stifle. Moved with drive.

3. Shenanagin Sofly Softly JW

Mid Limit (18, 5 abs)

1. Anlory Carinena JW
Another quality bitch. Kind expression and well proportioned head. Elegant and feminine and well balanced throughout. Well bodied with good reach of neck into well laid shoulders and with ample heart room.  Good strong quarters which she used to move with drive and purpose using her tail as a setter should. Maintained her positive movement in the challenge.  Pleased to award her the CC.

2. Riverbrue Enyo at Jubliana
Pleasing head with soft expression. Very elegant and sound.    Clean neck set into well laid shoulders and with good bend of stifle.  Has strong hindquarters with the correct angulation  which means she is able to move with drive.

3. Shaytell  Joleene

Limit (17, 11 abs)

1. Fairhaven Louise Mountbatten at Braidmount  (Imp Swe) NAF
Longer cast bitch, beautifully put together but she didn’t keep her topline when standing  in the challenge.  Soft, feminine expression.  Excellent  flowing lines with well placed shoulders and strong quarters allowing her to move with drive.

2. Suteresett Wispa at Juldeane JW ShCM
Very elegant  and  more compact than 1 but not so finished .  Excellent head and expression.   Well  balanced bitch with good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. Well bodied and with strong hindquarters.

3. Shaytell My Happiness

1. Bardonhill Singing Skies over Anlory JW
Another elegant bitch who moved well holding her topline.  Pleasing overall shape with flowing lines. Nice length of neck and shoulder with good front angulation. Slightly longer in loin but with strong hindquarters. She moved well in the class but  unfortunately not so collected for the challenge.

2. Sh Ch Lynwood Started  With A Kiss JW

3. Ned/VDH/LUX CH Irish Lady Ireleith

Veteran (11, 5abs)

Lovely class of oldies. Thank you.

2. Kerrsienna  A Paige in History for Deaconara JW ShCM (IMP)
