I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge their show, a brilliant atmosphere and wonderful catering.
Irish Setters Class 7 (Puppy) 11 entries (4 absent)
A lovely entry of puppies although mouths were a slight concern.
1. Framptons' Strathmead Penny Whistle.
Lovely puppy, sweet head with kind dark eye and raised brow, straight front and nice tight feet, slightly longer cast than I prefer but balanced throughout. Good bend of stifle, confident mover with good rear extension. B.P.
2. Russels' Melmara Minervois
Sweet puppy with a good future, slightly finer than 1 but still well off for bone. Lovely head, good layback of shoulders, nice topline into strong quarters, moved soundly.
3. Humphreys' Suteresett Miss Curious about Henaleas.
Class 8 (Special Yearling) 8 entries (1 absent)
1. Mcdonaghs' Ronzalda Figaro
What a difference a few weeks make, have judged this boy before and nice to see his owner took my previous comments on board. Love his head, nice dark eye and good finish to his muzzle, good lay of shoulders and level topline. His movement was greatly improved in a bigger ring. B.O.S
2. Prangle and Bennetts' Heathclare A Kind of Magic
Very sweet bitch who was unlucky to meet 1 on such good form. Lovely expression with nice raised brow, good shoulders, straight front, good spring of rib, tailset slightly low but she still used it well on the move.
3. Rorkes' Zakhan My Lady Zanna
Class 9 (Graduate) 6 entries (2 Absent)
A repeat of Special Yearling.
Class 10 (Post Graduate) 5 entries (all present)
1. Halls' Shenanagin Stardrift at Glenara
Loved this bitches head, lovely sweet expression, good raised brows, good length of foreface and kind dark eye. Straight front, good shoulder placement and level topline into strong quarters, moved effortlessly. R. B.O.B
2. Byrne, Edwards and Howletts' Siochanna Irish Heartbeat.
Good type of Irish presented immaculately and shown very well, nice hard condition, Kind dark eye, good shoulder placement, kept his topline on the move, covered the ground well.
3. Rorkes' Cataluna Pole Position.
Class 11 (Open) 9 entries (1 absent)
1. Watertons' Lynwood Kissed by an Angel at Sandstream.
My star of the day, I have judged this bitch before and she has matured into a quality bitch. Beautiful head with sweet expression, kind dark eye and good ear placement. Well arched neck set into well layback of shoulders. Straight front and good spring of rib, strong quarters with correct tailset which she used to her advantage when moving freely. BOB- Group 4 and also the last points for her Sh. Certificate of Merit.
2. Evans and Crockers' Brabrook Titania's Dream of Neathmill.
Sweet expression and nice dark eye, level topline and correct tail carriage, good bend of stifle, covered the ground well on the move.
3. Curtis' Wyldfire Colleen.
