The scheduled judge Mrs S Buist was unwell and unable to complete this appointment and I was asked to step in. Thank you to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions and I wish Mrs Buist a speedy recovery.
Junior dog (4,2)
1st Sturock’s ARENZANO LIBERATO DE FORFARIAN A young man with a pleasing outline, he has a masculine head and expression with a clean reach of neck which led to well placed shoulders. Good length of body with well made quarters, movement was ok once he settled. Handled to his best advantage.
Graduate dog (2,0)
1st Hannah’s FETTERSEK SNOW PATROL A nice type of youngster with a pleasing outline, with a masculine head and expression. He has a clean reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Good length of body, good through the rib, slightly long in loin, well made quarters, movement was adequate with a good action both fore and aft. Handler just needs to practice and to build confidence in herself to get the most out of him. Best Dog
2nd Christie’s DRUMWHAUR IRISH GOLD
Post Graduate dog (1,0)
1st Ross’ KETTLEHILLS STAR TROUPER Nice type of Irish, he has a pleasing head and expression, slightly straight in shoulder with an adequate front. Good overall body proportions and gently sloping top line. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle and hocks well let down. He moved with drive; however his footfall was just not as accurate as I would have like and this cost him in the challenge. Coat was in good condition and he was beautifully presented.
Limit dog (3,1)
1st Davie’s LOCHFRAE AVIATOR Balanced male with a clean reach of neck which led on to well placed shoulders, front assembly ok but a little narrow to my eye. Overall body proportions correct, would have just preferred slightly more spring of rib. Good rear angulation. Movement won him this class.
2ND O’Donnell’s SABREJILL CLASSIC ROCK FOR RAINVALLEY
Open dog (1,0)
1st Deighton’s BALLINTYNE ONCE IN A WHILE Smart dog, he has a pleasing head and expression and clean reach of neck, shoulder placement good. Proportionate length of body, good spring of rib and gently sloping top line. Well made quarters with a moderate bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Movement was ok, he was just a little lethargic in the challenge.
Junior Bitch (5,2)
1st Watt’s SHENANAGIN SOFTLY SOFTLY What a lovely young lady she is, sixteen months old and everything in the right place at this age. With a clean and elegant outline, she stood out in this class. Feminine head with soft expression and lovely raised brow. Good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders. Well ribbed body and firm through the loin, good depth to fore chest. Quarters well developed, personally I would like a slightly better finish to her croup. She has lovely free flowing movement, I think she is very promising. Unlucky to meet the BOB winner in the subsequent class.
2nd Gracie and Silwinsky EVENFLOW TWICE AS NICE
3rd Gracie EVENFLOW THE DRAMA QUEEN AT SUMMERGATE
Graduate bitch (5,1)
A tough decision between the first two – with the winner having the edge on movement. 1st Sturocks FORFARIAN CAUGHT YOU LOOKIN JW What a super young lady she is presenting an elegant and racy picture. She has a beautiful head and expression. Super clean reach of neck which led on to well placed shoulders. Correct body proportions with a gently sloping topline, ribs well sprung and good length of loin. Quarters well made with a sweeping bend of stifle. Coat is superb condition. Best moving exhibit on the day. It was my pleasure to award her Best of Breed
2nd Watt’s SHENANAGIN SOFTLY SOFTLY
3rd Wark’s DRUMWHAUR GOOD AS GOLD
Postgraduate bitch (4,1)
1st Gebbie’s FORFARIAN HOPE I like the overall outline of this bitch on the stack and she was handled to her best advantage. She has a pleasing head and expression, adequate reach of neck and front angulation was OK. She has a good length of body with well sprung ribs, gently sloping topline. Just carrying a little too much weight for my liking today. Well made quarters with a good bend of stifle. Profile movement was good and free flowing would just like a little more drive. 2nd Beaton’s KETTLEHILL STAR PERFORMER 3rd Paterson’s HEATHCLARE MUIRS MAGIC
Open bitch (2,0)
1st Cameron’s BALNAGOWAN BALLROOM BLITZ Grand old lady, rising 9 years old who decided to show the youngsters how to do it. In this class I liked her elegant head and expression and overall balance. She had both drive and purpose on the move.
2nd Beaton’s KETTLEHILL LOVE ME TENDER
