I would like to thank everyone who entered and I had a very enjoyable day. The Society were also very pleased as Irish Setters were the largest entry in the show.
Irish Setters
Puppy:9 (3a)
1st + BP Naylor & Morrison’s Anlory Living Water. 11month old pretty bitch with lovely head shape and nice dark eye. Nice tight feet and well angulated stifles. Lovely sloping top line and moved with good drive for her age.
2nd Grattons Glenlaine Elise. Less mature than first but still had a pleasant outline. Well-proportioned head with lovely dark eye and raised eyebrows. Moved well.
Junior:9 (2a)
1st Holley’s Gwendariff Soda Pop to Wynjill. A very pretty bitch which took my eye immediately. A well-proportioned head with almond shaped eyes and raised eyebrows. Straight front with tight feet and a good sloping topline. Well angulated and moved straight and with drive.
2nd Hyslop’s Gwendariff the Specialist. Another pretty bitch with good reach of neck and well laid shoulders. Sloping top line and good rear angulation. Lost out to first which had more positive movement.
Graduate:8 2(a)
1st Muir’s Romarne Savannah JW. Lovely shaped head with dark eye, raised eyebrows and low set ears. Tight feet and a sloping top line with plenty of rear angulation. Although carrying a little extra weight still moved with drive and true movement.
2nd Holleys Gwendariff Soda Pop to Wynjill.
Post Graduate: 8 (1a)
1st, BOB GP2 Gratton’s Bardonhill Floating Moon into Glenlaine JW ShCM. Very well presented and in excellent condition. Strong well-proportioned head with dark eye and low set ears. Long reach of neck with well arched feet and good rear angulation. Moved true with drive.
2nd Gardner’s Mayfred Mr Moondance. Correct eye shape and low set ears, well laid shoulders and ample rear angulation. Steady on the move.
Open: 5 (1a)
1st RBOB Naylor & Morrison’s Bardonhill Leaping Water over Anlory. Excellent head shape with dark oval eyes and correct ear set. A well-defined sloping top line with excellent rear angulation. Whilst she moved with drive and purpose she would have benefited from more enthusiasm.
2nd Carter’s Kerrimere Just Rumours. Strong head shape with low set ears and good angulation. Sloping top line and moved with correct tail carriage.
