Goyt Valley Gundog Society Open Show 27 December 2010
- Monday, 27 December 2010 00:00
Critique - Judge - Mr Douglas Hunter (Calderbracken)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for their hospitality and the exhibitors for braving the cold arctic winter elements. Understandably there were a number of absentees on the day due to the snow and ice making travelling conditions to the show treacherous. However I was delighted to get my hands on some lovely ‘Irish’ and enjoyed my day at Manchester.

1 Gardner, Milligan-Bott & Bott’s Thendara Jocasta - Promising 7 month bitch, beautiful head giving a really melting feminine expression, dark eye and low set ears, good reach of neck, good overall balance, shown in lovely condition, moved very well, should mature nicely. Pleased to award her best puppy in breed.

Very nice class full of quality…
1 Barker-Bell’s Balintyne The Continental – I just loved this gorgeous young boy and could easily have taken him back home with me! Super long & lean ‘classic’ headpiece with dreamy expression, correct eye shape and colour, long arched neck, he has elegance and a lovely gentle sloping topline to correct tailset, standing on the very best of tight feet, lovely glossy rich chestnut coat coming through, presented and handled very well, I was delighted to award him BOB today and will follow his progress with interest as I am sure he is destined for top honours in the future. Thank you for bringing him along today.
2 Corless’s Bardonhill Swift Eagle

PG (5,2abs)
1 Corless’s Bardonhill Swift Eagle – I really liked this boy for ‘type’ and fell for his refined handsome head and gentle expression. He presents a balanced picture in outline with good shoulders, straight front, deep chested, well ribbed back, good topline and tailset, looked good on the move. Most appealing.
2 Freeman’s Deaconara Blue Baroque
3 Walker’s Cataluna My Lady Annabella
O (8,5abs)
1 Cohen’s Caispern Vilette With Shusana JW – Fully mature boy with substance, shown in excellent coat and condition, sloping topline, excellent hindquarters, strong and well muscled, short hocks, moved positively to win this class.
2 Loynd’s Oldestone New Edition At Crimbledale
3 Walker’s Cataluna My Lady Annabella
