A lovely quality entry, just a shame about the absentees. A little disappointed with the hind movement of some dogs, although the uneven ring may be partly to blame for this. I would like to thank my very efficient steward who did a sterling job hanging on to everything in the ring in spite of the wind. She can steward for me any time!
Puppy (3,1)
Two lovely babies who in spite of being litter brothers were quite different.
1. Cardwell’s KIRKAVAGH THE WIZARD What a little stunner! Such a sweet expression with lovely dark eyes. Was really taken with this young man and will watch his progress with interest. Well made throughout with good angulation and prominent fore chest not overdone in any way. Moved soundly and steadily, particularly for one so young. Best Puppy and in final cut for gundog group.
2. Williams’ KIRKAVAGH WAYWARD LAD Litter brother to 1, but quite different in type. Lovely little chap with lots to commend, particularly like his head, just lacked the forechest of his brother.
Junior (4,2)
1. Cuddy’s SUTTERSET ROYAL RIPPLE WITH BALBRIGGAN Dark coated young dog, kept his topline on the move and used his correctly set tail to full advantage. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest.
2. Pullen & Atkins’ HARVANOURT HARLEM AT JACINGAIL
Post Graduate (7,5)
1. Waterton’s LYNWOOD KISSED BY AN ANGEL AT SANDSTREAM JW Have liked this bitch since she was a puppy and was pleased to have the opportunity to go over her. Sweet head and expression. Well balanced throughout. Nice depth of chest and well proportioned with correct angulation. Moved well and with drive on this uneven ground. Pleased to award her BOB. I gather she also made the final cut for the gundog group.
2. Carr’s JACWILINS MR PALMER
Open (3,0)
1. Boutell & Harris KONAKAKELA RED ADMIRAL AT IXIA Striking, dark coated dog with pleasing head and expression. Well off for bone and well bodied. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, good length of upper arm and depth of chest. Well presented. Reserve BOB.
2. Cuddy’s BALBRIGGAN ROYAL REBEL
3. Bartholomew’s KIRKAVAGH ISTABRAQ WITH BARTHOLEYS
