I would like to thank the committee for a very enjoyable day. I thought the show was well run with a very friendly atmosphere and the hospitality was excellent. I would also like to thank my stewards who were very efficient and very helpful.
PUPPY DOG 3 Abs 0
Three nice puppies all at different stages of development.
1 Laidlaws and Greens Glencarron Olympic Gold 10 mth puppy.
Good head with raised brows and low set ears giving a soft expression. Good straight front with ample bone. Balanced angulation fore and aft, tail set on correctly. Moved soundly. Nicely presented and handled. On the day showed more maturity and was more together than a promising puppy in 2.
2 Hunters Sametsuz Scriptwriter
3 Valances Braidmount Midnight Roue
JUNIOR DOG 3 Abs 0
1 Hunter & Browns Shenanagin Scholar with Braidmount
Beautiful headed dog of 17 mths. Almond shaped eyes, raised brows, low set ears and with plenty of work giving a soft wistful expression. Good reach of neck leading into well laid shoulders, plenty of depth to chest. Good angulation behind with well let down hocks .Racy outline with gently sloping topline, moved soundly , with time I feel this dog will come together more, the best is yet to come.
2. Laidlaws & Greens Glencarron Olympic Gold
3. Davies Lochfrae Aviator

Stood alone but a sound dog to go over. Nice head with soft expression, good straight front and well off for bone, well muscled all through. Good hind angulation with well let down strong hocks which went straight to the floor. Moved soundly, shown in good coat and condition.

Racy, elegant dog but yet still masculine. Lovely head, dark eyes, raised brows, soft expressiion with a hint of cheekiness. Nicely arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders with pronounced sternum and plenty of depth. Nice spring of rib and gently sloping topline leading to well angulated strong hindquarters. Hocks well let down and strong, neat feet. In excellent coat and condition. moved soundly with drive and enthusiasm, lovely lashing tail completing the picture. A pleasure to go over, thank you for bringing him. BD and BOB with full agreement from my co-judge.
BITCHES
Judge: Hilda Stephenson
Puppy Bitch (2)
1 - Hunter & Brown's BRAIDMOUNT MIDNIGHT LADY
A sturdy puppy with ample bone, good overall balance, well sprung ribs and correct hind leg angulation. She is a little broad in the skull, but has a sweet expression and she moved steadily and soundly.
2 - Barnes' FETTERESK DOUBLE CHARM
Junior Bitch (3,1a)
1 - Wilson's DANAWAY TONYA
Elegant youngster with correct coat, pleasing reach of neck, attractive head and good muzzle shape. I preferred the overall substance and quarters of my 2nd in this class, but the winner scored on forehand construction and balanced profile on the move.
2 - Davie's LOCHFRAE AFFINITY
Postgraduate Bitch (8, 5a)
1 - Williamson's SERRULA SINGSONG AT KELJARU
I would like to see more layback of shoulder and a trimmer figure here! Having said that, this bitch held her topline well on the move and has a feminine head with good dark eyes, low set ears, correct coat, tight feet and a nice sweep of stifle.
2 - Findlay's THENDARA SWEETHEART
3 - Paterson's HEATHCLARE MUIRS MAGIC
Limit Bitch (3, 1a)
1 - Wilson's DUNNYGASK TAPESTRY
A very racy, balanced bitch standing. On the move, she is rather untidy in front until she settles, then she has a pleasing stride, driving off her hocks and lashing her tail; feminine head with melting expression, low set ears and nice finish to muzzle; good depth of chest with correct, flat coat, tight feet and firm topline. BEST BITCH. Her feminine elegance in profile and lightness over the ground with that correct topline gave her the edge, (by a whisker!), over the very sound open bitch.
2 - Laidlaw's GLENCARRON RED HOT SALSA
Open Bitch (3, 1a)
1 - Vallance's BRAIDMOUNT GEORGIE GIRL SHCM.
A mature bitch with correct skull shape, low set ears and dark eyes; good reach of neck and shoulder angulation, but rather straight over the croup and level in topline. I have to confess that for type, topline and coat I preferred my 2nd in this class, but the winner covered the ground so well, moving steadily and true with rhythm, balance and drive.
2 - Laidlaw's GLENCARRON DIMPLE
BEST OF BREED
In complete agreement with my fellow judge, BEST OF BREED was the dog, SHCH & Ir. SH CH GLENCARRON MACDUFF, SHCM., who was later short-listed in the Best In Show line-up.
