Thank you to the committee for their hospitality and to Mrs Marita Bott for her very generous sponsorship of the Irish Setter classes.
This was a super new venue, with super long rings, unfortunately ours was rather narrow which made it difficult to assess side gait.
Puppy (8, 7)
1st Naylor & Morrison’s Anlory Barossa D a very mature 9mth old with plenty of depth & bone density, kind head with expressive eyes and brows, good width & depth to brisket and one of the few here today with a pronounced sternum; he is at the stage where his coat is 2 sizes too big for him so it rolls on the move, sound mover, very naughty boy but I loved to see this spirit, very Irish. BPIB
2nd Muir’s Romarne Savannah B a baby at just 6 months so was giving a lot away but what a little poppet she is, not a big one but beautifully balanced all through from her dark expressive eye to her well set on tail, moved very well.
3rd Farndell’s Cordarragh Rembrandt
Res Williamson’s Kirwilldale Chaska
VHC Gardner’s Mayfred Mr Moondance
Junior (11, 6)
1st Weller’s Suteresett Wispa at Juldeane B this young lady was by far the best mover in this class, beautiful forehand & good rear extension; she is built on very clean, elegant lines and the eye simply flows over her. Lovely head with correct almond shaped eye, low earset & nice length, well sprung rib & nicely arched loin, good angulation fore & aft, with short rear pasterns which powerhoused her round the ring
2nd Gardner’s Mayfred Mr Moondance D 11month old dog with much to like about him, he was VHC in a very strong puppy class and well deserved his place here. An upstanding dog who covers a lot of ground, good length to him, just needs to drop into his hindquarters, another with plenty of spirit.

VHC Carter’s Bardonhill Tiger paw
Post Graduate (12. 10)
1st Bridgwater’s Bridgella’s Winnie the Witch B I have long been an admirer of this young lady so was delighted to go over her, she is so well put together with everything in proportion. She possesses a beautiful head with dark expressive eye & quizzical raised brows, good forechest, lovely oval bone, tight feet, well ribbed, strong loin, lovely hind angulation, well let down hocks, striking topline, can move very well when she settles, very much on her mettle today and made her handler work hard for her placing. In full coat she will trouble the best. RBOB; very similar type to BOB.
2nd Kniveton’s Feylinci Beachcomber at Orstone JW D striking young man with a very richly pigmented coat, the standard calls for raciness and this boy has it in abundance, good head, clean neck set into good shoulders, well ribbed up, strong well muscled hindquarters, moved out well.

Limit (6,4)
1st Naylor & Morrison’s Anlory Carmenere JW B this girl just goes from strength to strength, she screams elegance and has such a striking outline, everything about her from her pretty well-worked head to her well set on tail is balanced and in proportion, no exaggerations here, she is so sound on the move, love her rear extension, just needs her coat to finish, surely her title cannot be far away. BOB
2nd Gardner’s Riqitta Authentic D I have admired this dog from the ringside and was delighted to be given the chance to go over him, he does not disappoint, he is male all through, strength but without coarseness, loved his angulation & strong topline on the move, he is a sound mover but today lacked the verve and enthusiasm I have seen from him before.
3rd Hopewell’s Davset Little Eva
Res O’Connor’s Caispern Miss Eyre
Open (3,2)
1st Poppleton’s Lurgavon Playboy D have watched this dog mature from a lean puppy into an upstanding young man, strong head with good stop, kind expression, good breadth and depth of chest, good spring of rib, strong loin, angulation adequate for and aft, moved OK, coat on the dry side, would prefer a darker pigmentation.
2nd Selman’s Cymbeline Impeccable
IRISH RED & WHITE SETTERS
Junior (1,1)
1st Jarvis’s Shanonlee the Woodlark B 13month old, lovely head, kind, soft eye, correct length of neck leading into a good forechest assembly, good density of bone & the tightest of feet, nice spring of rib, moved steadily, very well schooled and presented.
Post Graduate (1,1)
1st Jarvis’s S. the Woodlark
Open (4,4)
1st Taylor’s Laoirebay Ocean Sunset D no doubting this is a dog, strongly built with great substance, super depth and breadth of chest, very good angulation front and rear, with a lovely, strong topline, lovely markings, good pigmentation, kind head but just a tad heavy for me, but it is on the move that this boy is at his best, boy can he go, great front and rear extension and maintains his topline at all times, a stallion of a dog. BOB
2nd O’Connor’s Caispern Maid in Ireland B very nice compact bitch, she has a lovely combination of substance and femininity without any trace of coarseness, lovely head with correct eye & nice finish to foreface, strong neck leading into good shoulders, great depth of chest & ribcage, nicely angulated, moved soundly, just lacked the drive & enthusiasm of the dog, but nevertheless a very nice bitch.
