Critique - Judge - Julie Greenan
I would like to thank the Committee and friends for a warm welcome, I thoroughly enjoyed myself! In complete agreement with my co-judge, the Dog went BOB and got short-listed in a large group, the bitch RBOB and the Puppy Dog went Best Puppy in breed and Best in Show 3.
Puppy Dog – 3 (2a)
1. Sturrock’s – Forfarian Catch Me If You Can
Although this 8 mth old boy stood alone, he presented a lovely balanced picture. Substantial bone, exquisite head and expression, excellent angulation fore and aft, excellent spring of rib and depth to chest, loved him over the quarters which were strong and which showed through when he moved, using pure drive from behind. In good coat and condition, I hope he doesn’t grow on too much now as he is just right and with time will come in to his own. BPD, BPIP and BPIS3, well done.
Yearling Dog – 4
1. Vallance’s – Braidmount Midnight Roue
Loved the head and expression on this boy, straight front, good depth to chest, good shoulder placement, good rib, strong over the loin, good bend to stifle, tail set well on, short rear pasterns which he used on the move, strode out well, in lovely coat and condition.
2. Ross’s – Kettlehills Star Trouper
3. Sturrock’s – Forfarian Catch Me If You Can
Post Graduate Dog – 5 (2a)
1. Hunter & Brown’s – Shenanagin Scholar with Braidmount JW
I have seen this dog from the ringside but until you get your hands on him, you don’t appreciate what lies beneath. This young man looked totally disinterested as I approached him which made me chuckle. However he has a lovely head and expression, nice dark eye under raised brow, good sternum and depth to chest, sloping topline which he held on the move, excellent angulations fore and aft, strong over the loin, well muscled and he drove well off short rear pasterns. In excellent coat and condition. BOB
2, McNeil’s – Gwendariff Rock Dee Jay Over Glennlokhen
3. Laidlaw & Green’s – Glencarron Olympic Gold
Limit Dog – 1
1. Deighton’s – Balintyne Once In A While
Pleasant head and expression, good front with excellent sternum, good rib and depth to chest, good bend to stifle, tail set well on, moved ok.
Open Dog – 4(1a)
1. Davie’s – Lochfrae Ralph Lauren JW SHCM
Beautiful head and expression on this boy, good layback of shoulder which led in to a good topline. Well angulated quarters, strong over the loin, lovely short rear pasterns, moved well off his back, in excellent coat and condition.
2. Bryson’s – Glencarron Kentucky Blue
3. Rowan’s – Lochfrae Archimedes
