Three Counties Championship Show 10 June 2011

Critique - Judge: Mrs D B Cardwell (Casperosso)

MPD 5

1st Watt's Brabrook I'm The One. Tall puppy with lovely reach of neck, good forehand and gently sloping top line. Moved well when settled.

2nd Jones and Vatcher's Gwendariff Viva Las Vegas. Was somewhat unsettled at first but soon calmed down. Masculine head with soft expression, sloping stifle. Preferred top line of 1 but looks promising for the future.

3rd Pallister's Penwyn Red Admiral.

PD 8 (1)

1st Richardson's Kirkavagh Hernando. Stunning puppy, very well balanced for age. Rich chestnut coat, elegant neck and shoulders, moved steadily over the, in parts, rough ground. Lovely head and low set ears. BPD, BPIB.

2nd Pollard and Cook's Grayrigge Benedict. Another lovely puppy whose progress I shall watch with interest. I am sure these two will change places many times in the future. I just preferred 1 over the croup.

3rd Stocker's Kirkavagh Xakala.

JD 12 (3)

1st Williams Kirkavagh Wayward Lad. I thought he was going to throw away his chance on the move but settled well to show what he is capable of. He is coming together nicely now. He possesses the most refined of heads and when his coat grows a bit longer will trouble the best. Balanced and elegant.

2nd Bott's Bardonhill Gamblin Willie JW. Another top winning young dog.Beautiful coat. Not quite the second thigh of one and shorter coupled. Nice reach of neck and low set ears. One for the future I am sure.

3rd Humphreys and Oliver's Henaleas Uptown Flirt at Bramstorm.

YD 9

1st Gratton's Bardonhill Floating Moon Into Glenlaine. More mature dog than others in the class. Nice head and good overall balance. A coat to envy and beautifully presented. A lovely boy.

2nd Cohen's Brabrook Mastercraftsman with Shushana. He gave his handler such a hard time but is a lovely dog. Heavier head than I prefer, shown in good coat and condition. Nice tight feet, moved steadily.

3rd Williams Kirkavagh Wayward Lad.

GD 10 (2)

1st Palliser's Penwyn American Boy. Well balanced with a lovely chestnut coat. Refined head, low set ears, well angled forehand and good tail set.Moved ok.

2nd Lewis Deaconara Danse de Bleu avec Dotcomsetter. Well coated dog for age. Presented a lovely picture in profile. Moved steadily. Kind expression in eyes.

3rd Wood's Reddins Falcon.

PGD 12 (3)

1st Hogarth's Avacet Snow Drift. This boy has really come on since I last saw him. Possesses a full coat and moved well to win this class. Mischievous expression in his eyes. Well angled front and rear.

2nd Richardson's Kirkavagh Intermezzo. Another lovely dog from this kennel. Moved well. Stunning head with good eye expression. Beautifully presented. Just lost out on 1 with less developed second thigh.

3rd Davie's Lochfrae Aviator.

LD 14 (3).

A super class with not enough cards!
1st Hunter and Brown's Shenanagin Scholar with Braidmount JW. Close decision between these two dogs. Maturing well and is so well balanced. In full coat and has well angled shoulders and stifle. Moved well over the ground. Good reach of neck and gently sloping topline.

2nd Mugford's Copper's Undercover At Lynwood JW (Imp). Another beautiful dog, not quite the profusion of coat of 1. Elegant head and neck, good depth of chest, straight front and neat feet. Well set on tail.

3rd Powis Amberwave Breezer.

OD 9 (2)

1st Bott's SH Ch Bardonhill Ginger-Whinger J W. Worthy SH Ch . Lovely boy, not carrying too much weight like some dogs today. Flowed round the ring ignoring the potholes like the showman he is. In super coat and condition. Good forehand angulation and low set hocks allowing him to move with drive. CC and BOB.

2nd Burke's Clachnahar Ami Pierrot JW. Well coated dog with good angulation front and rear. Moved well. Gently sloping topline and well set on tail. Lovely eye expression. Good straight front, well off for bone. RDCC.

3rd Edwards SH Ch Gwendariff Rockin Robin.

MPB 16 (4)

Some of these babies did a dance around the "divots" in the grass making it difficult to assess movement but mostly did well enough in parts to show what they were capable of.

1st Drinkwater's Brabrook She's All Style Won class with ease, moving well over the ground. Elegant little girl, showing promise for the future.well angled front and rear with lovely reach of neck. Pretty head and expression.

2nd Roffey's Gwendariff The Real Thing. Such a pretty baby, one for the future I am sure. Very well put together. Elegant neck and shoulders, lovely bend of stifle. I wish I had two red cards, I was splitting hairs here. Movement was slightly more erratic on this occasion than 1.

3rd Davies Gwendariff Viva La Diva.

PB 8 (1)

1st Drinkwater's Brabrook Sharadiyn. Beautiful gleaming puppy coat. Very elegant with good angulation. Moved very well, straight front and strong quarters with low set hocks. Pretty head and low set ears.

2nd Watt's Shenanagin Softly Softly. Another super bitch from this kennel. Movement not quite so steady as 1. My notes say racy and elegant. Lovely reach of neck flowing into good shoulders. Prettiest of heads. Should do well in the future.

3rd Pollard's Grayrigge Beatrice.

JB 8 (1)

1st King's Kirkavagh Windmill Girl. Beautiful bitch with everything in the right place. Moved steadily. Full of quality, nothing exaggerated at all. Well balanced and should do well in the future.

2nd Reed's Tatterslee Athena. A bigger bitch than 1 but again everything in the right place. Good front and well bent stifle. Moved very well despite the uneven ground. Pretty face and eye expression.

3rd Muir's Romarne Savannah JW.

YB 11 (1)

1st Catling's Shandwick Star Shine at Teleri JW. Well known bitch with super flowing lines. She is a pleasure to go over and watch on the move. Pretty head, lovely neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Gently sloping topline. She is so feminine.

2nd Gurney's Danaway Paloma. Not one I have seen before. Lovely lines and in super coat. Good depth of chest and bend of stifle. Nice tight feet.

3rd Humphreys Henaleas Carry on Flirting.

GB 10 (1)

1st Douthwaite and Wharfe's Gracewood Shannon JW. Looked a picture in profile and moved out well. Gently sloping topline flowing into a well set on tail. Has the right amount of coat for age and good angulation front and rear.

2nd Hall's Shenagagin Stardrift at Glennara JW. Pretty bitch with elegant neck set well into good shoulders. Not quite the rear angulation of 1 but a lovely bitch nevertheless. I am sure she will do well in the future.

3rd Elkins Avacet Snowbird.

PGB 11 (2)

A close decision between the first two bitches.

1st Bott's Bardonhill Days Are Diamond. Smaller than 2, well balanced throughout. Gently sloping topline and well sprung ribs. Pretty with soft expression. Moved well.

2nd Hunter and Brown's Braidmount Midnight Lady JW. Lovely bitch in profile and moved out well. Pretty face and low set ears. Straight front, well off for bone. Low set hocks, perhaps not quite the rear angulation of 1 but a quality young lady.

3rd Waterton's Lynwood Kissed By An Angel At Sandstream JW.

LB 15 (3)

A lovely class, I needed more cards.

1st Hogsflesh Lyngor Living Water JW. One of my favourites and is maturing into a lovely bitch. She moves very well and strode around the ring as though she owned it. Well made young lady without exaggeration. Lovely picture in profile. Pleased to award her RCC.

2nd Gardner's Carnbargus Contemplation. Another one of my favourites. Such a pretty feminine little lady. Beautiful deep chestnut coat. Perhaps she did not put quite as much into her movement but that is splitting hairs. Lovely head and low set ears. Quality oozes out.

3rd Stevenson's Lochlorien Prime Suspect for Andley JW

OB 9 (3)

1st King's Kirkavagh Ivanjica JW. A bitch in full bloom with super coat in good condition. A good size for a bitch, not too big. Pretty head and good reach of neck flowing smoothly into well laid shoulders. Good forechest and depth of rib. Moved steadily over the uneven ground. Pleased to award her the BCC. Her third. Well done.

2nd Mugford's SH Ch Lynwood Follow Your Dreams JW. Another super bitch who had to give way to a bitch on top form. She is a worthy Champion. A lovely picture standing and in good coat. Elegant neck and shoulders flowing into good topline.

3rd Powis SH Ch Amberwave Freckles JW.
