Many thanks to you all for a lovely day and a wonderful entry. I was so pleased and excited to see so many really beautiful ladies entered, and especially happy with my final line-up.
So sad about the weather and having to be inside in July, but the club did us all proud and the rings were very spacious if not a little slippery, which is surprising for the KC building! On a more negative note I was disappointed to see so many untrimmed feet and hocks! Some ungroomed coats and far too many gunky eyes, which so spoils their expression! Temperaments were very good, lots of smiley Reds, which made me smile too ☺
MPB (16/2)
What a wonderful start to the day, great depth of quality here and surely such good news for the future of our breed to see these babes looking so well! Spoilt for choice. Quality right down the line.
1. Sheldon’s - Delano Snowbell. Such a little poppet, lovely size and shape, just right for her tender 7 months. Good oval bone, well sprung rib, rugged little quarters, an ever wagging tail and moving freely. She was taking everything around her in. Pretty head, dark eyes, good finish to foreface and muzzle, arched neck. .
2. Longbottom & Stewart-Richie’s - Gwendariff Gonna be Special Sweetest head and expression, appealing eyes, good body proportions and condition, moved true for a baby and was sympathetically handled to get the best out of her. Super dark coloured coat
3 Bain’s Millcroft Martina - I noticed her when I first looked around the big class. She owns a lovely head with raised brow, a classic outline already and a joy to watch move.
Puppy (13/3)
1. Pollard’s Grayrigge Beatrice. Very pretty young lady, lovely eyes and expression, low ear set, arched neck set well into good shoulders, deep at sternum, lovely return of upper arm, good rib and quarters, firm tight feet, strong in pasterns. In excellent coat and condition….lovely little parcel of joy! BPB. Just beaten by her gorgeous brother for BPIS, like peas in a pod.
2. Gardner, Milligan-Bott & Bott’s Thendara Lenamore. Taller, slightly more mature youngster and very similar remarks on these two. Pretty head and expression, good depth and rib she and owner moved very well together
3 Gurney’s Danaway sweet Dreams - Only 6 months and gaining confidence both standing and moving in this class, such a sweetie
Junior (22/10)
A cracking class
1. Muir’s Romarne Savannah – My notes say “Just lovely” Almost 18 months and in beautiful coat and condition, so much depth and sheen to it. Pretty head with a real wilful, cheeky expression. Strong arched neck, deep chest and well ribbed body to rugged quarters and well turned stifles, short straight hocks and tight feet. In profile she commands attention. A very confident, tidy and steady mover, well muscled up.
2. Gardiner’s Blaysdell Miss Nuala Another beauty, the prettiest face, dark eyes and raised brow, good stop, low ear set, longish neck, flowing topline, good turn of stifle, seemed be enjoying her day and moved out well for owner. See she is a daughter of my RCC winner
3. Gardener’s, Milligan-Bott & Bott’s - Thendara Jocasta. Happy lady, stands over more ground than 1& 2. She is full of quality, very nice to handle. Lovely ring presence.
Yearling (6/2)
1. Proctor’s -Shandwick Star Quality. Lovely compact bitch, making a beautiful picture stood. A very balanced outline, sweetest head and eye, looking lovingly from under her raised brow. Strong neck and well laid shoulder, good rib, tight at elbow, good width of thigh, used her well held tail on the move, much to admire.
2. Pollard’s -Grayrigge Rosalind Very similar thoughts on this lady as 1 and sure they will change places many times to come. Today, not the furnishings of 1. Pretty head and expression, super finish to muzzle. She is slightly longer cast. A close decision.
3. Townsend’s -Follidown Meadow Rue. Such a sweetie, with a pretty head and kind eye. Moved well and looked lovely in each class she was placed in, just left party dress behind today.
Maiden (17/7)
1 Thendara Jocasta,
2. Follidown Meadow Rue,
3. Grayrigge Beatrice
Novice (10/4)
1. Thendara Jocasta
2. Follidown Meadow Rue.
3. Prangle’s Heathclare a Kind of Magic – Strong, well made and balanced bitch, with a lovely expression. She too became more settled between each class.
Debutant (7/3)
1. Thendara Jocasta
2. Heathclare A Kind of Magic
3. Tapper’s Kedalita Aeracura. Unplaced in the strong junior class. Deep chested, well sprung ribs and strong quarters. More relaxed in this class
Under Grad (5)
1. Lohkamp & Lohkamp-Simmer’s - Coppers Bubble of Joy. Thank you for bringing this beautiful girl from Germany. She has excellent bone, muscular condition and coat and was so well presented. So much to admire and drool over. She has the “melts the heart” head and expression I was hoping to find. She just flowed all the way to her to tail. Considered her for higher honours.
2. Thendara Jocasta
3. Heathclare a Kind of Magic
Graduate (11/1)
Sorry, but I had to say it sometime “Just not enough red cards to go around in this strong competition” I really was splitting hairs
1 Douthwaite & Wharfe’s – Gracewood Shannon. I have admired this lovely girl since I first saw her at six months. Glad to have the chance to go over her and she is really well put together. Excellent animated movement, with lots of reach and drive which is lacking in many. Sweet expression, kind eyes, strong muscular neck and general overall condition. Good fore and rear quarters, well set on tail.
2 Hall’s – Shenanagin Stardrift at Glennara – Another really lovely lady and very similar comments here. Stands over more ground than 1, just the make and shape I like and well toned up, Appealing head and expression, good in upper arm, flowing topline, lovely wide, rugged quarters and turn of stifle…hard decision!
3. Weller’s -Suteresett Wispa at Juldeane. Another special girl and much to admire, in lovely coat and condition.
Post Graduate (18/4)
1. Waterton’s - Kissed by an Angel at Sandstream. What a super bitch to handle. Very nicely put together. She pulled out all the stops in her quality class, moving so well holding her topline, going with plenty of drive from behind. She made a very nice picture when stood with clean, feminine lines. Such a cheeky expression and twinkly dark eyes, holding her ears low, longish neck and gently sloping topline, straight front, wide quarters and correct tail set.
2. Hillock’s - Jonola Hot and Sassy. Pretty girl Lovely finish to muzzle, kind eyes, raised brow, well folded low ear set. Looks very good from every angle. She has a beautiful dark coat, rugged quarters and good width of thigh, strong topline, and longish arched neck. She moved well but like many others I am sure would have been far happier out on the grass rather than on the slippery floor.
3. Osman’s – Coppers Prima Bubblerina. Gorgeous head and expression, plenty of bone and lots to like.
Minor Limit (5/1)
1. Hunter & Brown’s – Braidmount Midnight Lady. A really beautiful girl from head to tail, and a very desirable and classy setter, so well put together. She has a real commanding ring presence about her. She is very impressive, both standing, and moving, where she used her strong hocks well. Wonderful fore and rear quarter angulations and deep chest. She was carrying just the right amount of weight and in beautiful coat and excellent muscular condition. I would be delighted if she sat on my sofa every day. Delighted to award her the CC, and later RBIS & BOS.
2. Robert’s - Lynwood Theme Song for Polemennor. Another lovely elegant lady, she too filled my eye. She flows from nose to tail; wonderful width to thigh, strong, wide quarters and well toned enabling her to move out well.
3. Routs’ - Shaytell My Happiness, Did not stay for photo or report
Mid Limit (8/1)
1. Naylor & Morrison’s - Bardonhill Singing Skies over Anlory. What a sweetheart and very pretty with the gentlest expression. Compact and ultra feminine and a powerful mover. The more I looked at her the more I saw to admire. Flowing lines, great quarters, fore and aft. Right up on her pasterns. Very well presented and turned out as always from this owner.
2. Hillock’s – Jonola Love and Liberty. Super head, neck and shoulders on this one, gently flowing topline to excellent well turned stifles and strong quarters. Moved around the ring with drive. Although quite different I liked both girls very much.
3. Mugford’s – Lynwood Started with a Kiss. Well constructed, quality bitch good front and quarters, good bone moved well, lovely profile.
Limit (14/1)
A hotly contested class, full of quality ladies. One beautiful bitch, very sadly, was lame and unplaced.
1. Gardiner’s - Reddins Esther of Blaysdell. Where lovely lady have you been hiding? 5 years old and looking absolutely beautiful and finished. I was quite smitten with her. Dark coated, melting expression, most desirable eye and brow, square at muzzle, clean neck and shoulder, an impressive topline, strong quarters, well set on tail, small tight feet and strong pasterns. She really was very close up for the ticket, but just a bit unsettled in challenge. RCC
2. Osman’s - Coppers Under My Umbrella. A stunning bitch and a very close decision. So pretty with gorgeous eyes and expression. She is so elegant and refined, yet with substance and real style. Wonderful quarters which she used to advantage to drive around the ring, good feet and lashing her tail. Loved her
3. Fox’s – Satlas Blue Eyes. Looking a picture and one I have always admired but not judged. Lovely proportions, size and shape, has great bone and substance. More compact than 2 above. She needs a bit more coaxing from owner to get the best out of her.
Open (9/5)
1. Mugford’s – Sh Ch Lynwood Follow Your Dreams - A close decision between 1 & 2 as I liked them both. This lady was in good condition and moved really well. Very sound and honest type, lovely picture stood. Kind appealing expression, flowing outline, nice angulations in both her fore and rear quarters, well set on tail.
2. Bouttell’s – Sh Ch Ixia Genevieve. She was being a real pickle and did not really want to be there at all. She owns a really lovely head and a very sweet expression but a little on the plumpious side for me today. Fully coated. She too can really stride out well, good bone and feet.
3. Gisby’s - Balbriggan Ace of Hearts by Suteresett. I have loved her since minor puppy, and not changed my mind. She owns such an appealing head and expression, pretty eyes, and an elegant and well proportioned body. Today had to give way to the other two well dressed ladies in their Sunday best.
Veteran (8/2/1w/d)
1. Waterton’s - Lynwood Strands of Silk at Sandstream. This beautiful lady today gave us a lesson on how to move and enjoy herself at the same time, with a lashing tail action and up on her neat toes. Never judged her before and it was a pleasure. The sweetest face and expression, so kind looking….pretty eye, raised brow, low ear set, arched neck, well laid shoulders, well ribbed, good topline both stood and on the move. With total agreement from my co judge she was later BVIS.
2. Condron & Mortimer’s- Covarney Miss B’Having – Again, another I have always liked and did not disappoint. Compact well made girl, lovely head and expression, arched neck, straight front, well ribbed and strong in quarters. Drove around the ring off short hocks and very tidy feet.
3. Vallence’s – Braidmount Georgie Girl. Very nice setter, lovely make and shape, great substance but all lady and very well presented. She did not look like a veteran and went very well. Nice class of lovely over 7’s
