I was asked to take over the judging of Irish Setters after Puppy Dog. Thank you to all exhibitors for the sporting way in which this was accepted. Best wishes to Mrs Sarah Sevastopulo for a speedy return to full health.

1st: GREENAN’s Anlory The Living Daylights Over Juleset: Beautifully balanced young boy, rather fidgety but could not be denied the class as he stood out here. His topline flowed smoothly from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, gently sloping downwards from his withers. Nice head and expression, good neck and shoulder, deep brisket , well sprung ribs , strong muscular hindquarters. Moved with drive..
2nd: WOOD’s Reddins Falcon; Lovely typy dog maturing nicely, refined head with melting expression, as you would expect from his breeding. Good balance, shown in gleaming coat ,went well.

1st: KNIVETON’s Feylinci Beachcomber At Orstone JW: Handsome well constructed dog, straight front, deep chest and well sprung ribs, correct topline, well bent stifles, covered the ground well on the move.
2nd: LORRIMER’s Danaway C'est Si Bon: Elegant head, good neck and shoulder. Well balanced, moved freely and soundly..
3rd: QUINN, & MCNAMARA’s Cataluna Peter Pan

1st: BUCHAN’s Loskeran Dream Maker; Well presented in lovely coat and condtion, straight front, elbows well let down, deep chest strong quarters moved positively covering the ground well.
2nd: LOUGHLIN’s Rohanmor One Step Beyond JD Nice boy just lost out in head to the winner. Well balanced with correct topline, good forechest and depth of brisket, rugged well-muscled hindquarters, moved soundly..

1st: GARDNER’s Riqitta Authentic, Well proportioned dog with pleasing head , correct moderate neck, deep chest ,straight front with elbows well let down nice thick coat with furnishings, good width in the quarters. Moved well but just a little proud of his tail
2nd: O'DONNELL’s Sabrejill Classic Rock from Rain Valley :Pleasing head and expression, gently sloping topline, straight front, deep chest, well turned stifles, moved ok.

1st: MUGFORD’s’s Copper's Undercover At Lynwood JW (Imp): Gorgeous boy who I have admired from the ring side. Melting head and expression, correct moderate neck flowing into well laid shoulders, Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Strong quarters, moved freely with lashing tail. I am sure , with maturity, he is soon destined for the very top.
2nd: DANKS-KEMISH’s Tiroen Time After Time For Alolfran JW Sh.CM : Pleasing dog with nice head and expression straight front, well developed body proportions, free flowing movement
3rd: STOCKTON’s Kespas Infrared JW

1st: MCNEIL’s Glencarron Shakatak: A dog I have admired from the ringside and was excited to go over. A shade on the big side for me but his quality cannot be denied, handsome and refined, with lovely head and expression, great depth of brisket ,nicely sloping top line, strong hindquarters, moved soundly covering the ground well.
2nd: WALL, & JONES’s Cilcain Anything Goes to Hazelbeck: Another one I have admired from the ring side who was unlucky to meet the winner today. Gentle head and expression. Well proportioned with powerful hindquarters , shown in good coat. Sound flowing movement .
3rd: MILLIGAN-BOTT, & BOTT’s Thendara Kramer

1st: MILLIGAN-BOTT & BOTT’s Sh Ch Scotselaw Detroit Spinner By Thendara JW: This boy has taken time to develop but wow hasn’t he been worth waiting for! His head is exquisite, long , lean, and refined, raised brows and melting expressive eyes. He is elegant, racy and screams quality thoughout.. Moderate well-arched neck leading into correctly laid shoulders. Firm flowing topline with no bumps over the croup. Deep brisket, strong hindquarters, short hocks. Shown in full coat presented to perfection. Strode round the ring with free flowing driving movement. CC and BOB
2nd: NORTH, & HOLEHAN’s Sh Ch Erinade Starwars JW: A very worthy show champion. Mature, well balanced, racy, full of quality. Shown in full coat. Moved with style and drive at one with his handler. Res CC
3rd: SHAW-RAINEY & RAINEY’s Ir Sh Ch Trawricka High Jinks At Starchelle (Imp)

1st: RICHARDSON’s Cataluna Smart Alec at Montgreenan: Nicely constructed, good neck and shoulder, strong ribs with plenty of lung room .Powerful quarters, short hocks Moved positively covering the ground well..
2nd: ROSE-HAY & GAUL’s Cataluna Nickle 'n' Dime: I preferred this dog in head and expression to the winner. Deep chest, sloping top line, good coat. Lost out to the winner on the move probably feeling the heat today.
Class 1119 MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: MANN, & CONDRON’s Covarney Annabelle With Hopstone: Lovely well balanced puppy. Pretty head and expression, straight front, well bodied with good spring of rib, moved confidently.
Class 1120 PB (6 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: POLLARD’s Grayrigge Rosalind: This little girl is maturing nicely and shows great promise. Lovely head which is nicely proportioned with raised brows and gentle expression. Gently sloping topline with correct tailset. Good neck leading into well laid shoulder . Deep chest, nicely angulated hindquarters, neat feet, moved steadily and happily. Best Puppy over a lovely puppy dog also showing great potential for the future.
2nd: CATLING’s Shandwick Star Shine at Teleri: Nice head and expression, clean elegant outline, straight front, well developed chest and spring of rib moved soundly and freely.
3rd: STURROCKS’ Forfarian Caught You Lookin
Class 1121 JB (16 Entries) Abs: 3
1st: BOX’s Fernstart Lovesong : What a lovely youngster, I am sure she will go far. Gorgeous head and expression, with just a hint of naughtiness. Elegant and racy with well laid shoulders and correct topline. Rugged quarters which she used to drive round the ring with style..
2nd: GISBY’s, Suteresett Black Magic: Another very promising young bitch with lovely head and expression deep chest and well-angulated stifles. Moved positively.

1st: ROWE’s Gracewood Fair Isle : Pretty head and expression as I would expect from her breeding , well bodied bitch, with good spring of rib and depth of brisket. Good coat. Well co-ordinated on the move.
2nd: BEATON’s Kettlehills Star Performer :Refined head with soft expression , well balanced standing and on the move, just lacking the finish of the winner at present.
3rd: SWAINSTON’s Glenvarna Garbo

1st: NAYLOR & MORRISON’s Anlory Carmenere JW: What a beautiful bitch this is. I am sure she is going to the very top. She fought hard here to take the top honour but just lost out on maturity at present. Elegant, racy and oozes quality. She drove round the ring, lashing her tail, looking like she owned it. Res CC
2nd: WATERTON’s Lynwood Kissed By An Angel At Sandstream JW: another gorgeous girl typical of her breeding. Pretty head, good neck and shoulder , well balanced. Moved well .She was unlucky to meet the winner today.
3rd: MCDONALD’s Salwarp Socialite At Chugerra
Class 1124 PGB (18 Entries) Abs: 6
1st: ROBERTS’s Colanme Confection :Stood out in this class. Lovely head with raised brows , moderate neck well set into well laid shoulders. Good front, deep brisket,well balanced, good coat , moved freely and soundly.
2nd: HOPEWELL’s Davset It's Now Or Never : Lovely bitch to go over, sound , balanced and of good quality, moved very well, lost out on finish to the winner.
3rd: POWIS’s Amberwave Freckles JW

1st: HOGSFLESH’s Lyngor Living Water JW : One I have done well for before. Maturing well and should trouble the best for top honours soon. Very pretty head, straight front, correct topline, lovely lay back of shoulder. well set tail moved with style
2nd: MUGFORD’s Lynwood Started With A Kiss JW: Elegant, pretty, lovely outline, good depth , well angulated, rugged hind quarters, strong movement, close up, I just preferred head of winner
3rd: BERRY & MORRIS’s Brinara Winter Cherry JW

In this class some lovely bitches didn’t quite come up to their full potential on the move, probably due to the heat.
1st: GARDNER’s Carnbargus Contemplation JW: yet another lovely bitch from this breeder, elegant racy, full of quality. Beautiful head with expressive gentle eye, good neck and shoulder, well developed fore-chest, well sprung ribs and strong hindquarters, moved positively with good tail carriage, a real sweetie.
2nd: HENDERSON’s Sametsuz A Taste Of Honey. Lovely well balanced bitch in beautiful coat presented to perfection. She was unlucky to meet the winner today.
3rd VANT’s Barleydale Happiness JW

1st: CHORLEY-NEWTON, & CHORLEY’s Outfoxed By Kerryfair JW: I am amazed at how this bitch has developed on over the last 12 months. She has the most beautiful head with raised brows and kind intelligent expression. Her neck is of the correct moderate length leading down to well laid shoulders. Gently sloping top line flowing into a well set on tail. Good bend of stifle, short hocks, strong rugged quarters. She moved around the ring, in tune with her handler, using her tail and just asking for top honours. CC
2nd: HERON’s Sh Ch Caskeys Happy Hour JW : Very pretty girl with good neck and shoulder, good fore-chest and depth of brisket, well sprung ribs , nicely angulated hindquarters. Moved ok but lacked a little drive today in the strong heat.
3rd: KING’s Kirkavagh Primera JW
Class 1128 VB (3 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: WATERTON’s Lynwood Strands Of Silk At Sandstream JW Sh.CM :Her pretty greying face stole my heart. Well balanced, with deep chest and well sprung rib. Well bent stifles well co-ordinated on the move.
2nd: STEPHENSON ‘s Lyngor Wisdom: More substantial than 1, nice head, good front, deep body, strong quarters, moved soundly.
